Orchestrate a battery module assembly line across vendors

Situation

An assembly line for battery modules (feeding, screwdriving, laser marking, test station, camera and packaging) consists of machines from different manufacturers with their own controllers and data models. Order, product ID, status and fault messages have to be processed consistently across all stations.

With retavi

retavi connects the existing machine controllers to a shared software layer via open interfaces. The retavi//Framework consolidates the process data, releases stations, tracks status and responds to faults. The local controllers remain responsible for their own tasks.

Benefit

Separate machines become one controllable overall process without rebuilding the PLC programs of every station. Process management, data integration and supervisory control come together centrally and also support connecting MES or ERP systems.
