Control ventilation, heating and lighting for a school building together
Situation
In a modernised school building, an existing building automation system controls heating circuits and ventilation, the lighting comes from a different manufacturer, and shading and room occupancy supply their own signals. Each system works on its own; the combination of occupancy, CO₂ level, window contact, light and temperature has so far had to be checked across several user interfaces.
With retavi
retavi connects the existing trades to a shared industrial PC via suitable communication modules. A C# module implements the room logic: a presence detector activates lighting and demand-based ventilation, an open window lowers the heating setpoint, and elevated CO₂ levels raise the ventilation stage. BACnet serves as the manufacturer-independent communication standard between the trades.
