PV, storage and energy management
Inverters, battery storage, wallboxes and meters rarely speak the same language. Control your components across vendors with retavi, based on open standards such as Modbus and SunSpec. You regulate self-consumption, peak loads and grid requirements automatically. One energy management system instead of many apps.
Your benefit
One energy management system across all components instead of one app per vendor
Self-consumption, peak loads and grid requirements (section 14a EnWG) regulated automatically
Open interfaces: connect monitoring and billing however you like
Your starting point
Connectivity check
In a workshop, we check your components for controllability with you and develop the concept for control, monitoring and grid compliance, including a fixed-price effort estimate.
Arrange an initial consultationChallenges
Vendor diversity across components
Inverters, battery storage, wallboxes and meters each use their own protocols and apps.
One app per vendor
Each component is controlled through its own application. A combined view is missing.
Meeting grid requirements
Requirements such as section 14a EnWG must be implemented reliably and traceably.
Keeping peak loads under control
Without coordinated control, simultaneous loads drive up peak demand unnecessarily.
Classic solution vs. retavi
| Aspect | Classic solution | With retavi |
|---|---|---|
| Control | One app per vendor | One energy management system across all components |
| Standards | Closed | Open, Modbus/SunSpec |
| Grid compliance | Implemented manually | Regulated automatically |
| Self-consumption / peak loads | Uncoordinated | Regulated |
| Monitoring / billing | Fixed | Connectable via open interfaces |
How retavi solves it
Three steps from individual components to energy management.
Connect components
You connect inverters, storage, wallboxes and meters via open standards such as Modbus and SunSpec.
Automate control
retavi automatically manages self-consumption, peak loads and grid requirements such as Section 14a EnWG.
Connect freely
You attach monitoring and billing through open interfaces, exactly as needed.

Examples
Coordinate photovoltaics, storage and wallboxes across manufacturers
Situation
A commercial business extends its PV system with battery storage and AC wallboxes for employees and the vehicle fleet. Inverters, storage and charging points bring their own protocols such as Modbus or SunSpec and separate manufacturer portals. Without shared control, the wallbox sometimes charges at exactly the moment the storage system is already drawing from the grid.
With retavi
retavi consolidates the data from the energy components on an industrial PC in one shared logic. Ready-made communication modules read PV output, grid draw, state of charge and charging power; using the C# Module SDK, the team implements the site-specific prioritisation: local loads first, then storage, then vehicle charging or grid feed-in.
Benefit
Energy management follows one consistent strategy instead of several independent apps. The operator aligns control with actual priorities, for example to limit peak loads or use PV surplus locally, and develops IT and visualisation independently of the component manufacturer.
